(Her eyes burn and she rises, moving to sit beside him. She rests her head on his shoulder, wondering if proximity will give her some of his strength and wisdom.)
I am Sansa Stark. I don't want to be anyone else. (Being Alayne had been a nice retreat. Alayne had been simpler by far. But she always knew in her heart she would be Sansa again someday.)
If anything happens to me, I know you will be strong. I am so grateful to you and Maedhros. I hope you never think of this time as...misused or wasted.
I wouldn't want you to be anyone else either. Sansa Stark is amazing just as she is. [He wrapped an arm around her, kissing the top of her head.
He would give her all the strength and wisdom that he could, like his parents had given to him once.]
This is the best use of my time that I can think of and I know Maedhros would agree. And there is no need to repay us. Just seeing how you have changed since I first met you is plenty.
(Once she would have thought herself worthy of a King and a kingdom.)
I am no better than anyone else. (She rests against him, feeling braver and stronger.) The deities of the city have played havoc on us from time to time. I do not think you would recognize me - beyond my appearance - if they made me a child again.
I used to think the same thing about myself, sometimes I still do. My cousins were all smarter, faster, taller than I am. My brother is intelligent and designs architecture, my sister is an accomplished huntress and my youngest brother is skilled with a sword. I really never had any skills that set me apart.
It's hard to remember not to overlook yourself or think of yourself as any less. [If he can help her become stronger and more confident, then he will consider everything worth it. They may not be related by blood but they are family.]
That's alright. No matter what happens here in the city, Maedhros and I will do everything we can to help you.
