Are you saying there is a pattern? (Tambë tugs Astaldo into another embrace, kissing his temple.) I will come home to you tonight as quickly as I can manage.

Just a little. [He wrapped his arms around his husband, looking up at him.]

I can't wait. I'll be there to welcome you home.

(Tambë dips his head and captures Astaldo's lips for a lingering kiss.)

I look forward to that. (He lets go reluctantly.) Be safe, love.

I will-have a good rest of your day. [He leaned up to kiss him softly before stepping away. Parting from his husband was always difficult.

He blew him one last kiss before leaving the stable, looking forward to reuniting with him later that night.]

(Tambë watches him go until he is out of sight. Then he sighs and gets to work, keeping himself occupied until it is time to leave. He bids the horses and ponies one last farewell, checking each stall to make sure it is stocked and comfortable.

Then, as the sun sets, he heads back to the apartments, climbing the steps as fast as his body allows. Once he reaches the fourth floor, he lets himself into the apartment and exhales in relief.)

Astaldo?

[Astaldo had been distracted all day, eager to be done with work and get home. As soon as his last client was done, he quickly cleaned up and went back to the apartment to shower and change.

He put together a simple meal for them after taking care of the kittens before laying down to wait for his husband. He was aware of the kittens curling up by him but before he knew it he was asleep, only waking when Tambe entered.

He felt awful when he realized he had fell asleep, especially when he noticed he had knocked the plate of food over. He had wanted to welcome Tambe home to dinner and a relaxing evening, not to a mess.]

Welcome home! [He still smiled when he yawned, getting up to wrap his arms around his husband and give him a kiss. He was still happy that Tambe was home at last.]

(He could tell Astaldo had been sleeping and his smile is equal parts loving and concerned.)

Are you feeling sick? (Pressing his cheek against Astaldo's forehead, he searches for any signs of fever.) You're not warm, but -

(They have been so energetic each night. He can feel fatigue pulling at him too.)

Tonight, let's go to sleep much sooner, hm?

I'm just tired. I didn't mean to concern you, I had a long day. [And as much as he had the increased stamina of being an Elf, there were still limits, especially after his death, and he felt them keenly at times.]

Good idea. The kittens agreed, they were curled up by me earlier.

[castintoflames]

I am concerned and that isn't something you should regret. (Tambë strokes over Astaldo's cheek.) I care because you are my husband. If you are tired, let me help you sleep.

(His laugh is low and warm.)

They have the right idea. Let's eat first.

[consumedbyfire]

[He smiled, relaxing as he stood on his toes to kiss him softly.]

Thank you, love. [He didn't want to cause Tambe worry but he loved feeling protected and cared for by such a loving husband.]

I'll get us some more food. I have some juice we can have with our rice and dumplings.

[castintoflames]

(The gentle pressure is returned and Tambë squeezes Astaldo's hand.)

You shouldn't hide how you feel, Finno. Please tell me when you are tired or hurt or sick. I promise I won't break.

(Or worse. However it is important to him that his husband relies on him too.)

I know. I just wanted to spend time with you when you came back. [He admitted with a soft smile.]

I miss you during the day and I didn't want to miss seeing you tonight either.

We are here together. (Tambë presses against him to prove his point, nudging him towards their meal.) That smells delicious.

Did you make all my favorites?

I made rice and your favorite dumplings with vegetables and chicken. [He smiled as he kissed Tambe quickly before bending over to pick up the food, trying to salvage as much as he could.]

And there is cake in the kitchen for dessert- chocolate and vanilla.

(He hums his approval and bends down to help Astaldo, cleaning up that which couldn't be saved.)

I'm sorry for waking you abruptly. Were you having good dreams?

[Once everything was cleaned up, Astaldo lead the way into the kitchen so he could prepare more food for them.]

I was- I dreamed I was younger and swimming in the river by the palace. You remember the spot- it was secluded and not many of us knew about it which made it a great place to escape.

In my dream I remember I was floating on the water looking up at the sky- it was golden. And I felt so at peace, just floating there- just...free.

(They work seamlessly together and soon Tambë sits down to enjoy some of the dumplings.)

You would strip down to nothing and swim there. (He grins.) I thought you were precious.

We should go swimming.

[Astaldo sat beside him, setting juice out for both of them.]

It was my favorite spot. It was safe and quiet. [No one bothered him or made fun of him there. Even when he was alone, it gave him comfort.]

We should, just the two of us! So I can strip down to nothing again.

[castintoflames]

(Tambë reaches for the juice and drinks thirstily, sighing.)

It was safe and quiet because I was your guard. (He grins and gently tweaks Astaldo's ear.)

My little cousin didn't need to be waylaid by my brothers playing pranks.

(Chuckling, he nods.) You won't be quite so cute anymore.

Is that why they never found my spot? I thought it was because I was good at being sneaky! [But his heart swelled at the thought that Tambe had been standing guard so he could have a safe space for a bit.

He laughed, blushing as his ear was tweaked.]

And this time you can join me instead of guarding.

You were sneaky, but they had far more numbers than you. (He had distracted them if they came close. His knowledge as older brother had been very useful.)

I... It has to be private, Finno.

I agree. I don't want someone happening on us. [Considering what they often got up to when they were naked together.]

I will find a remote swimming spot for us. I will ask around.

[castintoflames]

It's not so much us... (He looks away, lips thinning.) I don't want them to see you. And...

I don't want them to see me.

[consumedbyfire]

I know. What we share is special between us. [He loved the sight of Tambe but he didn't want anyone to see anything which was just between them.]

And no one gets to see you naked except for me. [He said as he leaned over to kiss him softly.]

(The bond is special - precious - but Tambë has issues with being seen in a vulnerable state. Morgoth can be thanked for that fear.)

I want to ensure the spot is safe beforehand. I will patrol it.
